  • When I buy a Practical Present, where does my money go? +

    Your Practical Present donation will be put to immediate use supporting our life changing work around the world. Flexibility in how your donation is spent is vital and ensures it can be used quickly and effectively to support the people who most urgently need our help. Each gift belongs to one of three themed areas of work. When you buy a gift, your money will directly contribute to our work in Energy, Water and Sanitation and Agriculture.
  • Do you send the gift pack to me first or directly to my friend or loved one? +

    It’s up to you. We will send it to you to complete and pass on to your friend or loved one. Alternatively, we can send it to them directly. Simply fill in the name and address details of the person you’d like us to send your gift to at the checkout and add your own personal message for us to complete. Please allow ten working days for delivery (and longer at Christmas and Easter). All gifts are posted 2nd Class via Royal Mail.
  • What does my friend or loved one actually get? +

    When you order a Practical Present, you will receive a gift pack to pass onto your friend telling them you’ve bought a Practical Present in their name. The gift pack has information and a photograph relating to the chosen Practical Present, and shows how Practical Action’s projects are helping to change poor people’s lives overseas.
  • What happens if I want to purchase multiple gifts to be sent to different recipients? +

    If you would like to purchase more than one gift, but want them to be sent to different recipients; please purchase your gifts in separate transactions. If you have any questions about purchasing multiple gifts, please call 0800 389 1624, to speak to a member of the team who are also able to take your order over the phone.
  • Can I send an E-card? +

    Yes! Just select the e-card option when prompted during the checkout process, and complete the details. Please complete the details for each e-card you wish to send. If you want to send both e-cards and postal orders you will need to do these in separate transactions.
  • When will my E-card be delivered? +

    E-cards will be delivered immediately after purchase of a Practical Present. Unfortunately, it is not possible to delay the sending of an e-card or for it to be delivered on a specific time/date.
